Breastfeeding provides significant health benefits for mom, as well as the vitamins, nutrients and disease-fighting substances your baby needs for each stage of development. The American Academy of Pediatrics recognizes breastfeeding as the best method of feeding and nurturing infants. While breastfeeding is natural, it is also a learned skill for a new mother and baby. This two-hour class, taught by one of Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital's lactation consultants, teaches techniques for breastfeeding success and addresses common concerns to make your experience as smooth as possible. Partners are encouraged to attend.
This class meets on the 2nd floor of the Family Birth Place next to the waiting room. We encourage moms to complete classes between weeks 28 and 36 of pregnancy. However, early registration is encouraged because classes do fill up! Pre-registration is required. Cost is $20 per couple. Only one registration is needed per couple. Snacks and drinks are welcome. For questions about classes, please call 850-278-3995.
**Refunds will be given if a cancellation request is received 2 business days (48 hours) prior to the start
