Stuart R. Verseman, MD

Dr. Stuart Verseman is a general and bariatric surgeon.  He grew up in Southern Illinois, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, his Medical Degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  He served in the United States Navy as a surgeon and was the ship’s surgeon on the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier.  Dr. Verseman has 30 years of surgical experience and has specialized in bariatric surgery for almost 20 years.  He is the past president of the Michigan Chapter of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.  He is a site reviewer for the Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Accreditation & Quality Improvement Program  Dr. Verseman takes pride in providing caring and empathetic care for his patients.
