As an experienced provider of brain injury services, Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Neurological Recovery Systems is uniquely qualified to provide the guidance necessary to assist survivors on their path to recovery using proven therapeutic principles. 

The individualized treatment offered in Bridgeway Home, the Community Monitored Living Program, and Outpatient Services – guides brain injury survivors through their life-rebuilding process, helping them to set and achieve realistic goals.  All services are delivered by knowledgeable, experienced professionals committed to excellence. Certified Brain Injury Specialists are on staff at each facility.

Bridgeway Home – Our 24-hour licensed home

Bridgeway Home, Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Neurological Recovery Systems provides 24-hour residential support in Rochester Hills, Michigan. This facility is licensed by the State of Michigan and offers adults with traumatic brain injuries the opportunity to set and achieve realistic, personalized goals in their life building process. The focus is to assist clients in reaching their full potential in areas such as problem solving and judgment skills, memory, communication, socialization, and community reintegration. Our experienced staff ensures continuation of care through therapeutic home programming. Certified Brain Injury Specialists are on site.

Bridgeway Home is located 5 minutes from downtown Rochester and Troy, in a pleasant residential neighborhood close to shopping, recreational centers, and other community resources. Set on attractive landscaped grounds, it is spacious and wheelchair accessible. 24-hour residential placement includes room and board, staffing, home programming, transportation to/from appointments and recreational outings. Clients budget for their own groceries.  Bridgeway Home includes:

  • Transitional and long term placement-length of stay is determined on the needs and goals of the individual
  • Respite services- temporary, short-term care providing 24 hour supervised treatment
  • Individualized programming
  • Community reintegration
  • Basic and advanced ADL retraining
  • Internal case supervision
  • Self-medication supervision and training
  • Team conferences
  • Independent and group recreational programs
  • Transportation included in per diem

Many of our participants have injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents or work related accidents. Therefore, residential services are payable by their auto insurance or workers’ compensation companies. 

Community Monitored Living Program
Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Neurological Recovery Systems’ Community Monitored Living Program (CMLP) provides support to individuals living in their own residence within the tri-county and surrounding areas. The focus is to assist our clients in reaching their full potential through advanced training in areas such as money management, medication administration, organization, community reintegration, emergency preparedness, and higher-level problem solving skills. Certified Brain Injury Specialists are on staff.

From weekly home visits to daily functional training, our CMLP staff is dedicated to successful rehabilitation and reintegration. It includes:

  • Internal case supervision
  • Respite services
  • Individualized programming
  • Team conferences
  • 24 hour on-call emergency service
  • Community reintegration
  • Activities of daily living

Outpatient Therapy Center
The Outpatient Therapy Center reflects our continuing commitment to responsible, appropriate treatment and cost-effective care. Therapies are carefully designed and implemented to meet each individual's needs. Treatment methods incorporate traditional as well as unique and creative new approaches. Therapeutic learning occurs both in the clinic and community settings, as well as the home, to maximize skills. Clients may receive one or multiple therapies, depending upon their needs.  

Our team of professionals ensures treatment goals are focused and unified.  Certified Brain Injury Specialists are on site to assist in recovery needs. Therapies offered are:
