Specialty Services

Infrared Sauna

This is an effective tool for natural healing and prevention.  Infrared light has the ability to penetrate human tissue, which in turn, produces a host of anti-aging health benefits.  Infrared sauna detoxification happens by heating the body directly, causing a ride in core temperature. This results in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where toxins reside.

Studies have shown that benefits of an infrared sauna session can burn upwards of 600 calories while you relax! As the body works to cool itself, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories.

Infrared sauna heat penetrates tissue, joints and muscles to relieve anything from minor aches and pains to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Pain management professionals incorporate infrared sauna therapy into treatment plans to decrease pain and muscle spasms and to speed up recovery time.

Non Operative Spine Care

Medication alone may not be enough to manage your pain. Some medications are more effective when they are combined with other methods of treatment. Our physicians pride themselves on offering you the most up to date pain treatment procedures specific to the type of pain you are experiencing.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a conservative, non-surgical, drug – free manual (done by hands) therapy that utilizes spinal manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue techniques and postural, core stabilization exercises to treat injured areas of the spine. The goal of therapy is to restore/maintain spine health and motion thereby minimizing pain or discomfort and disability.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is helpful in many conditions and may be offered as part of your pain management treatment plan. Licensed therapists are here to help contribute to your over all wellness. Learn more about our Massage Therapy Program.

Acupuncture is a therapy that uses very thin needles, inserted at selected points on the body. The locations vary based on the condition being treated. The needles are then sometimes gently manipulated by the practitioner or used in conjunction with electric stimulation to achieve different effects.

What Acupuncture can do for you...

  • Can reduce pain, either acute or chronic
  • Calm anxiety and improve mood and sleep
  • Regulate digestion
  • Treat headaches, especially migraine or tension headaches
  • Reproductive issues can be addressed; from menstrual pain to infertility
  • Aid in smoking cessation
  • Can sometimes reduce blood pressure and aid in general heart health
  • Helps reduce nausea, vomiting, and lack of appetite, especially that associated with cancer treatment

Acupuncture should not be painful. When the needle is inserted sometimes a small prick may be felt, but should go away. A feeling of dullness, heaviness, warmth or tingling can follow this, but no pain should be felt.

Behavioral Health Services

This is a service offered to our patients as part of their treatment plan. Patients experiencing chronic pain often develop associated problems, such as an inability to work, an increased level of frustration over daily tasks, and difficulty sleeping. In order to cope with the pain and these associated issues, patients often engage in less healthy coping strategies, such as poor eating habits, withdrawing from family and friends, or smoking cigarettes. In addition, research has shown that our mental health not only influences how we cope with the pain, it can directly affect the pain itself. We offer a variety of Behavioral Health services to teach, encourage, and support our patients to make healthy choices, to cope more effectively, and to become an active member of their treatment team.
