Childbirth Education and Support Groups
Childbirth classes, tours and support for expecting and new moms
As an expecting mom, you probably have questions. At Ascension, we’re here to answer your questions and provide you support during and after your pregnancy. During your first prenatal check-up, your OB-GYN or certified nurse midwife will tell you about support services and childbirth classes that are available to you. We offer childbirth, infant care and breastfeeding classes. By taking childbirth classes, you can learn more about your birthing options, such as our hypnobirthing, and what to expect. To pre-register for a class, call 1-800-362-9900 or use the online directory.
This is also a time you can start thinking about your birthing preferences and schedule a birthing center tour at one of our locations:
- Ascension NE Wisconsin - St. Elizabeth Campus Birthing Center
- Ascension NE Wisconsin - Mercy Campus Birthing Center
Support group for new moms
The Moms’ Club is a support group led by a registered nurse for new moms and their babies. We discuss adjusting to life as a new mom, working through the baby blues, and all types of baby care topics. For times and dates, please call 1-800-362-9900 or use the online class directory.
Support for postpartum depression and anxiety
Talk to your doctor and our nurse educators if you are feeling depressed, anxious or “blue” after the birth of your baby. Learn about ways to cope and manage your needs and those of your baby.
Losing your baby preterm can be a very difficult time. But you’re not alone. Bereavement-trained nurses, chaplains and mental health specialists are here to help you manage your grief.
