Specialists in Neurology and Neurosurgery

Providence has neurologists and neurosurgeons skilled in advanced treatments for disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system.

Treating Brain Nerve Spine Conditions

Along the Alabama-Mississippi Gulf Coast, Providence Hospital provides comprehensive care for stroke, spine and brain diseases and nerve disorders, thanks to the Providence neurosciences team. They also care for individuals with chronic migraines, herniated disc pain, sciatica, and epilepsy.

This multidisciplinary approach utilizes the skills of neuro-hospitalists Lori McIntosh, MD, and Aurangzeb Memon, MD; neurologists William Denson, MD, and  Kent Robinson, MD; and neurosurgeons Shawn Clark, MD, and James Hirsch, MD. All are specially trained and board certified.

The neurologists of Providence Medical Group can be reached at 251-639-0001.

We provide convenient imaging and diagnostic tests, called neurodiagnostic tests. Our certified technicians perform EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies and evoked potential studies. We use these tests to analyze brain patterns, pinched nerves and electrical activity in the brain and spinal nerves. These tests and our expertise help diagnosis brain and spine conditions.

Neurologic surgeons specialize in prevention, diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases of the nervous system, including diseases and trauma of the brain, spine, spinal cord, peripheral nerve and the cerebrovascular system. With surgery, our goal is to preserve or restore the greatest possible degree of neurological function.
