Treating Brain and Spine Disorders

For the neurologic needs of children, The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart provides the region’s only pediatric neurosurgeon, Matthew Pearson, MD. His expertise includes treating newborns and children with brain disorders, cancer, and spine birth defects, such as spina bifida, craniofacial disorders. He also treats trauma injuries and tumors.  We provide a family-centered, educational approach to care, so the patient can make informed choices about the treatment plan.

Our pediatric neurosurgery team understands that children aren’t just small adults. They need a care team who understands the difference and specialize in a compassionate, caring bedside manner. We bring state-of-the-art pediatric neurosurgical care to children of all ages.

Dr. Pearson specializes in advanced neurosurgical treatments for head deformities such as hydrocephalus and has special medical interests in treating brain tumors, epilepsy and movement disorders.
