Cardiac Care from the Heart
Heart and Vascular Care at Providence
Providence Hospital offers a full range of heart care services from diagnostic cardiac testing to medical and surgical treatments. At Providence we have more than 50 specially-trained cardiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, and cardiac electrophysiologists.
For those with heart rhythm disorders (called AFib) and congestive heart failure, we have three cardiac catheterization labs, two cardiac electrophysiology suites and two dedicated heart surgery suites fully-equipped for the heart procedures we perform here each year.
Providence Hospital consistently earns “Gold” status by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s Get with The Guidelines – Heart Failure program. This award recognizes facilities that achieve at least two years of 85 percent or higher adherence to the program standards.
Our Caring Hearts Congestive Heart Failure Clinic is the foundation of this achievement. Our nurse educators visit all hospitalized patients with heart failure daily as part of our commitment to a complete continuum of care. We help bridge medication management and care after hospitalization, with your primary care physician and home health care services if needed.
Rehab Your Heart with Exercise and Nutrition
Our cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program provides medically-supervised exercise and nutrition education at the Beth M. Rouse Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. Located on the Providence Hospital campus in Mobile, the program includes cardiopulmonary exercise therapy, health education and emotional support for the patients and their families. The major goal of the program is to restore participants to an active and enjoyable lifestyle while reducing the risk of future cardiac or pulmonary problems and complications.
