- Encourage individuals with a mental diagnosis to see beyond their illness and more towards life goals.
- Inspire hope, focusing attention on the successful fulfillment of personal goals.
Our intensive-outpatient services at Southside
Outpatient addiction medicine
Patients will receive support and prescription guidance from our staff of doctors and nurses. Because research shows that medication is most effective when combined with counseling, we encourage outpatient therapy as indicated when receiving medication through our physicians.
Ascension St. Vincent’s medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program uses suboxone to help patients stabilize and recover from opioid addiction.
Outpatient group therapy for substance-use disorders
Our outpatient therapy group meets one hour weekly for 12 weeks. The group’s focus is substance abuse treatment and associated issues that cause moderate impairment. Treatment goals will address lifestyle, attitudinal and behavioral issues that are interfering with functioning or recovery.
The intensive-outpatient program provides flexibility and structure to patients with a variety of group therapy classes that are available five days a week. This program consists of a minimum of nine hours per week and was designed to serve patients with a mental health or substance-use disorder or both. Education is available to patients and family members through separately scheduled outpatient appointments.
The partial-hospitalization program provides five hours of group therapy five days a week. Individualized treatment plans are developed that address biological, psychological and social functioning and set the patient up for success upon discharge. Patients in this program need to be medically stable, able to attend consistently, and in need of intensive support and treatment that does not meet inpatient admission criteria. Patients in this program have a mental health or substance use disorder, or both.
Available group classes
Individual appointments are also available as needed.
Outpatient counseling and treatment services
In addition to our partial-hospital and intensive-outpatient program, we offer 14 outpatient offices across North Florida and South Georgia, as well as virtual or telehealth appointments so that you can get the mental healthcare you need, when and where you need it - even from the comfort of your own home.
