Our board-certified pediatric emergency doctors and care teams are specially trained to care for kids and deliver advanced life-saving services in our designated Level 2 Trauma Center. Our pediatric ED was designed with children and families in mind. Colorful waiting areas and exam rooms help put your child at ease, and we use specially designed equipment made just for children. Caring for sudden, serious illness and injuries in children
Getting colds, bumps and bruises are all part of being a kid. When an illness becomes more severe or your child has a major injury, we’re ready to deliver the emergency care your child needs. Getting the emergency care your child needs, when they need it, is an important decision. Symptoms and signs that your child may need emergency care include:
- Bites and stings
- Blue face and lips, or pale coloring
- Chest pain
- Fever
- Major injury or broken bone
- Seizure
- Severe allergic reaction
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea
- Trouble breathing
- Other serious illness or injury
- Minor to severe burn injuries
If your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, go directly to the ER or call 911. Signs or symptoms of an acute emergency in children may include: severe vomiting or diarrhea, blue face and lips or pale coloring, high fever, chest pain, seizure, trouble breathing, major injury or broken bone, severe allergic reaction, and animal bites.
