Rural and Urban Access to Health (RUAH)

RUAH provides a comprehensive network of health, human and social services for improved access and removal of barriers to needed resources.

Rural and Urban Access to Health (RUAH) is a community based care coordination program sponsored by St. Vincent Medical Group. Inspired by the work of St. Vincent de Paul, the purpose of RUAH is: To connect our friends, family and neighbors to a comprehensive, integrated delivery network of health, human and social services resulting in improved access and removal of barriers to needed resources.

    Access to healthcare services

Health advocates can help you connect to care by finding a doctor; applying for health coverage programs; connecting to community resources and agencies as well as prescription assistance programs.

To connect our friends, family and neighbors to a comprehensive, integrated delivery network of health, human and social services resulting in improved access and removal of barriers to needed resources.

Through RUAH, health advocates are here to help you with all your needs. When you come into the hospital or doctor’s office for services, be sure to let the staff know you’re working with a health advocate. That way, we can better serve you by working together as a team to help you remove any barrier to you and your family’s health.

A health advocate can help you with:

    • Finding a doctor
    • Medications at free and reduced cost
    • Applying for health coverage (Medicaid, Healthy Indiana Plan, Medicare, Hoosier Healthwise)
    • Applying for public programs (Food Stamps, TANF, Social Security, WIC, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program)
    • Connections to other community resources and agencies for assistance
