At Ascension Providence in Mobile, Alabama, we deliver a personalized wellness and fitness experience to help you meet your goals.

Sports performance and personal training

Ascension Providence wellness and fitness specialists offer personalized exercise programs and wellness classes on healthy living. Our exercise specialists and athletic trainers help teens and adults create a personalized fitness routine. We motivate and empower you to meet your health and wellness goals. Our team focuses on injury prevention training and offers nutrition guidance.

At Ascension Providence Beth M. Rouse Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, we help you learn how to train in a way that is safe and effective.

Wellness center services

The Ascension Providence Beth M. Rouse Rehabilitation and Wellness Center is a full-service facility with a variety of equipment and services. We have yoga, aerobics classes and water aerobics classes. The Wellness and Fitness Center has a membership fee. Our classes are offered at no cost to members.

Gym at the Wellness Center 


  • Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. (pools close at 6 p.m.) 
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. (pools close at 12:30 p.m.)

Silver Sneakers Aerobics Classes

Mondays and Wednesdays 


  • Circuit Class: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
  • Classic Class: 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Yoga classes


  • Chair Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
  • Yoga Nidra on Wednesdays: 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Water aerobics 

Mondays and Wednesdays


  • Water Aerobics: 9 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
  • Aquatic Arthritis Class: 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

Tuesdays and Thursdays


  • Water Aerobics: 5:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Physical Therapy

Understanding how to recover from your injury or after surgery helps improve your overall health. Our rehabilitation care team is here to help. Your doctor may prescribe physical therapy as part of your treatment plan. Ascension Providence physical therapists listen to understand you and your health concerns. Then, we work with you to create a rehabilitation care plan that’s right for you. Physical therapy helps promote healing, relieve aches and pains, and restore your strength, mobility and balance using personalized non-surgical therapies. Aerobics classes

SilverSneakers® Cardio Circuit: Mondays and Wednesdays - 9 a.m. 

This 60 minute class is great for adults who are looking for a moderate-intensity workout. The class offers standing, low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper-body strength work. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending upon the skill of individual participants. 

SilverSneaker® Classic: Mondays and Wednesdays - 10 a.m.

SilverSneaker® Classic is our most versatile class. It’s great for those who are just beginning to exercise or those with limitations. This 60 minute class is designed to increase muscle strength and range of movement. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. Classes can be modified depending on fitness levels. 

Chair yoga: Tuesdays and Thursdays - 9 a.m.

Chair yoga allows you to explore and practice postures that strengthen and stretch every muscle in your body. This class helps increase your flexibility and balance. Using breath and movement, you'll flow seamlessly throughout the entire practice - either sitting, standing, or walking. Benefits also include stress reduction, and improved posture and concentration.

Yoga Nidra: Wednesdays - 11:15 a.m.

Yoga Nidra simply helps one move into peacefulness. Come in, lie down on a mat, and we'll help you become completely comfortable. This sleep practice induces physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Yoga Nidra may help create balance in brain chemistry, reduce insomnia, decrease anxiety, alleviate stress, reduce PTSD and heighten awareness and focus. 

Water aerobics 

Mondays and Wednesdays: 9 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 5:15 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Take the plunge and try this low-impact workout that focuses on endurance and resistance training in an enjoyable atmosphere with music. Participants may exercise in the shallow or deep water and will include cardio such as walking, jogging, cross country skiing, jumping jacks, etc. Class is intended for all fitness levels. 

Aquatic arthritis class

Mondays and Wednesdays: 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

A gentle, warm water exercise class for adults with arthritis. Movements are tailored to your abilities and skill levels. Class components include an emphasis on deep water exercise utilizing pool noodles or belts for flotation or participants may choose to tread water. You don't need to know how to swim. The goal of this class is to help you feel stronger and more flexible.
