Breastfeeding: Getting Started with Confidence (Waukesha County 2023)

This class is designed to build your confidence and skills for breastfeeding your newborn.

Topics include:

  • How to prepare for breastfeeding

  • Positioning your newborn
  • Proper Latch
  • How to feel confident your newborn is getting enough breast milk
  • How your family can support your decision to breastfeed
  • Using a breast pump and breastmilk storage

* We recommend that you attend this class during the seventh or eighth month of your pregnancy, so you can best retain what you learn. If these Elmbrook Memorial Hospital classes do not work with your schedule, please feel free to take a class at another Ascension hospital in the Milwaukee Metro Area. Classes are also offered at: Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee campus; Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee campus; and Ascension St. Joseph's Hospital campus.
