Do you have concerns about falling? Want to be proactive or have fallen in the past?

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and
restrict their activities. A MATTER OF BALANCE has developed a virtual translation that is offered online. This is an award-winning, evidence-based
program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.


The program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.

YOU WILL LEARN TO:

  • view falls as controllable
  • set goals for increasing activity
  • make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • exercise to increase strength
    and balance

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • anyone concerned about falls
  • anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • anyone who has fallen in the past
  • anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns

HOW OFTEN ARE SESSIONS?

  • Sessions are held online, once a week for 9 weeks. Each session (total of 9) is 2 hours long with breaks.

Some sessions include light to moderate exercises including stretching, balance, and range of motion exercises. BEFORE registering, review the attached Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q).
