Car Seat Installation Station - Southfield, MI

Make an appointment to work with a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Learn how to make your child as safe as possible in motor vehicles!

Ascension Providence Southfield Hospital’s Trauma Prevention Services and Safe Kids Oakland County have partnered together with the Southfield Fire Department to provide free, educational car seat installation checks to anyone (expecting parents, grandparents, caretakers, etc.) who would like to practice installing their seat while learning valuable recommendations and safety guidelines from a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Each individualized check takes approximately 30 mins per seat and is done by appointment only.

We have a limited amount of convertible (5lb -65lb / rear to forward facing), high back booster with harness, and big kid booster car seats available to qualifying families (see attachment). We do NOT distribute infant rear facing only (RFO) car seats. A child weighing between 5lbs - 65lbs will ride safely in a convertible car seat when installed and used correctly. The child receiving the car seat must be present or mother in her third trimester. You do NOT need to be an Oakland County resident to qualify. Please indicate below if you are in need of a car seat.
