Childbirth Education: Elmbrook & St. Joseph Campuses (4 week series)

This comprehensive class is designed to build your confidence in preparing for labor & delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.

Topics Include:

  • Late pregnancy discomforts
  • How to know when you are in labor and when to go to the hospital
  • What to pack
  • Stages of labor
  • Natural comfort techniques
  • Medicated labor options
  • Medical interventions (including C-Sections)
  • What to expect for your hospital patient experience
  • Postpartum and recovery
  • Breastfeeding*
  • Basic newborn care

We recommend that you attend this class during the seventh or eighth month of your pregnancy, so you can best retain what you learn. We are proud to offer this program for every parent delivering at an Ascension hospital that is interested, regardless of the ability to pay. Please call 414-447-2622, or 414-585-1025. Registration is required. Due to limited class sizes, please look at our other Ascension hospitals for more options.

*While Breastfeeding is addressed in this class, if you plan to breastfeed your baby we strongly recommend taking our additional Breastfeeding: Getting Started with Confidence class with you partner.

If one of the dates below doesn't work for your schedule, then please consider taking a Virtual Breastfeeding Class or an in-person class at either our Milwaukee or Ozaukee campus.
