This one-session introduction to breastfeeding focuses on techniques for initiating nursing during the early weeks with your newborn and maintaining a successful breastfeeding experience.
Discussion includes: · Benefits for both mom and baby · Latching · Positioning · Returning to the workplace · Information on breast pumps and other available lactation services
Dad or other support person is strongly encouraged to attend. We encourage you to have a pretend baby available to use during class; a baby doll, stuffed animal, or even a roll of paper towels will work. You will use this to practice breastfeeding holds and positions during class.
Registration includes both mom and care partner.
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to virtual class. On the day of class, you will be able to view the class using your laptop, tablet, desktop or smart phone. If you choose to use a smart phone or tablet, you will be prompted to download the Google Meets app, which is a free download. There will be opportunities through out the class to ask questions.
*It is recommended that you complete this class 30 days before your due date.*
