Dr. Mavroudis is Medical Director of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent. A world-renowned surgeon, he is an expert in the fields of complex congenital heart repairs, arrhythmia surgery, coronary artery surgery in children and heart transplantation. Dr. Mavroudis earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his internship, General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery residencies, and research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Mavroudis is also a Professor Emeritus of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A leading researcher, he is the editor of the standard textbook, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, now in its 5th Edition, and has published more than 500 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
