Dr. Johnson completed a two-year combined cardio-thoracic and peripheral vascular surgical residence at the Texas Heart Institute with Dr. Denton Cooley. Dr. Johnson joined the practice in 1986. Dr. Johnson is board certified in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery and has a special certification in vascular surgery issued by the American Board of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
