Zane Hammoud, MD is board certified in Thoracic Surgery and has a subspeciality in non-cardiac thoracic surgery. He completed medical education at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He completed a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Â
Dr. Hammoud commonly treats lung cancer, esophageal surgery (benign and malignant) and airway surgery. He commonly performs robotic lung surgery and robotic esophageal surgery.
Dr. Hammoud practices at Ascension Providence Southfield and Novi campuses and serves as the Chief of General Thoracic Surgery. He has earned the Hour Magazine Top Doc Award for 14 years. He is additionally a professor of surgery for Wayne State University School of Medicine, and has been awarded a college teaching award through this role. In his free time, he is an avid sports fan, car enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
