Laura Dover, MD
Laura Dover, MD is a radiation oncologist who specializes in treating tumors throughout the body with therapeutic radiation. She has been working in this field since 2015 when she began her career at the Hazelrig-Salter Radiation Oncology Center in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Dover's previous experience includes Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New, NY from 2019-2022 where she further honed her skills using the latest advanced radiation techniques prior to accepting the role as Radiation Oncologist at Ascension St. Vincent’s East Cancer Treatment Center. She works with therapeutic radiation equipment such as ablative stereotactic radiotherapy when indicated to deliver radiation treatment with the highest level of precision while minimizing damage to nearby healthy tissue.
With the latest technology, Dr. Dover is able to effectively target a very precise area to control tumors and alleviate associated symptoms while protecting other parts of the body.
Dr. Dover is continually working with colleagues across the country to further improve how to use radiation to help people.
She is co-creator of a radiation oncology daily digest, QuadShot News. In the public policy arena, she is part of Government Relations as well as the Education subcommittees of the American Society of Radiation Oncologists (ASTRO). She is on the editorial board of ASTRO’s journal, Practical Radiation Oncology and is a committee member of the Society of Women in Radiation Oncology (SWRO).
