Teresa Gonzaga, MD, is a board-certified plastics & reconstructive surgeon. After completing 7 years of general surgery training and research, Dr. Gonzaga finished an additional 3 years of independent plastic surgery residency.
Dr. Teresa Gonzaga has a special interest in reconstructive breast surgery, microsurgical reconstruction (free flaps), hand and cosmetic surgery. She has extensive experience in awake liposuction. Born and raised in Western Wisconsin, she is highly motivated to build long lasting relationships with her patients, colleagues and community.
"Having a reconstructive surgery is a process. I guide my patients through the planning, staging, delaying and alteration of the surgical plan. I support patients through the healing process and educate them on the recovery and result processes that occur at 8 weeks, 6 months and 1-2 years as scar tissue remodels. I believe in full disclosure of the risks and benefits of surgical options, including nonsurgical options. Clear bidirectional communication is paramount."
Outside of the office, Dr. Gonzaga enjoys golf, tennis, all Wisconsin Badger sports, traveling and spending time with her two dogs Pearl and Lucy and family.
