Weight Loss Success Stories: The Geary Family
My body went numb. That was my last cigarette. I made up my mind to lose weight and change my life.
Over the years, my husband and I tried all kinds of weight-loss programs, and every time, we’d gain the weight right back. My husband said that he worried he was on the verge of a heart attack. He was borderline diabetic and had borderline high blood pressure, and was tired all the time.
Two years later and eighty pounds lighter, I can walk up the stairs without missing a beat. Before I would’ve had to sit down after climing those stairs. My husband is more active, too. He’s lost lost 125 pounds.
We both went through weight-loss surgery with Dr. Verseman, but surgery was only part of the plan to lose weight. Dr. Wortz helped us understand we have to work hard every day to keep the weight off by not only eating less calories, but also exercising and making other lifestyle changes.
We trust Dr. Wortz because he had the surgery and also struggled with his own weight-loss battle, so he spoke from personal expereince. Advice from someone who had it done is a whole lot better than from someone who has not gone through it. He’s so positive and keeps you on track.
Today, my husband and I have a whole new outlook. We never used to leave the house. Now we go to movies and fairs in the summer and even ride the rides.
Best of all, I feel good playing with my granddaughter. Now she looks at me and says, “You’re beautiful, grandma.”
