Providence Delivers Happy, Healthy Families
Every year, the staff of the Louise Robinson Moorer Women’s Health Center at Providence welcomes more than 1,800 new babies to our Gulf Coast communities. Keeping our moms healthy and babies growing is the focus of our prenatal and maternity services. Whether you are a first-time mom or have several years of parenting experience, you expect personized obstetrics care. That is what you’ll find at Providence Hospital.
Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care
Providence is one of a limited number of hospitals nationwide to be designated a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care for demonstrating expertise and a commitment to quality care during vaginal and C-section deliveries. We consistently earn high rankings in customer service for the nursing care our maternity patients receive.
Your Delivery Experience Is Our Top Priority
The Louise Robinson Moorer Women’s Health Center at Providence provides an attractive and well-equipped setting for the arrival of your baby. The center’s dedicated Labor and Delivery unit includes private rooms for labor and observation, three operating rooms for C-section deliveries, as well as 14 private labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites. Our nurses use their experience and training to provide the best birthing option available for you and your baby.
After delivery, you and your baby will enjoy a period of skin-to-skin contact that helps you and your baby bond while sharing warmth. An on-site, certified lactation consultant is ready to help you get started with breastfeeding, answer your questions and address your concerns. She is also available for follow-up appointments and consultations once you are at home.

Giving Newborns the Pediatric Care They Need on Day One
Our Level II Special Care Nursery offers care for those babies who need extra attention during the first days of life. Our pediatric hospitalists oversee the medical care these newborns need while you are at the hospital.
The doctors at Providence Medical Group – Pediatrics specialize in the growth and development of children from birth to age 18. They are board-certified pediatricians with offices conveniently located on the Providence Hospital campus.
Childbirth Education Classes Benefit the Whole Family
We know that babies don’t come with an owner’s manual, so we offer a variety of childbirth education classes to help prepare parents for their new baby. These classes are for mom, dad, brothers, and sisters, and include preparing for childbirth, infant CPR, and other timely newborn care lessons. We also provide support and instruction about breastfeeding.
