The Ascension heart care team includes experienced specialists focused on diagnosing and managing heart and vascular disease. We provide inpatient and outpatient care at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Jane Phillips Medical Center is Bartlesville, and St. John Broken Arrow. We also have outreach cardiology clinics in Claremore, Owasso and Sapulpa.

As a patient at Ascension St. John, you will develop a long-term relationship with a primary cardiologist who will provide continuity through regular follow-up and care coordination. Your primary cardiologist will work with the heart and vascular care team to provide you with coordinated, individualized care.

In our general cardiology clinic, your primary cardiologist will manage your conditions and if needed will coordinate with disease-driven specialty clinics within our heart and vascular center.

Structural Heart Clinic

At Ascension St. John we provide minimally invasive approaches to treating:

  • Aortic stenosis
  • Mitral regurgitation
  • Stroke prevention for atrial fibrillation (left atrial appendage closure)
  • Patent foramen ovale
  • Atrial septal defect
  • Ventricular septal defect

Our structural heart team includes interventional and diagnostic cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists who collaborate to develop individualized care plans for structural heart disease patients.

Heart Failure Clinic

Heart failure is a serious but manageable condition. Through regular visits to the heart failure clinic, we provide personalized medication management, nurse-directed education, as well as dietary and other lifestyle modifications. Through these interventions, our heart failure clinic team can help you maintain a high quality of life.

Additional advanced heart failure therapies available at Ascension St. John include cardiac resynchronization therapy and implantable cardiac defibrillators.

Heart Rhythm Services

Our electrophysiologists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms. Some of the diseases we treat include:

PAD Clinic (Peripheral Arterial Disease)

Peripheral vascular disease leads to the build-up of arterial plaque which can ultimately lead to reduced blood flow in various parts of the body. Timely treatment can prevent stroke, organ failure, the loss of a limb or life.

This clinic focuses on the diagnosis and management of peripheral arterial disease. The diagnosis of PAD includes minimally and non-invasive testing such as:

Our care team utilizes non-invasive diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive vein ablation therapy in the management of this condition.
