For those with a heart valve disease, our cardiothoracic surgeons have extensive experience performing minimally invasive TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) and mitral valve procedures to repair or replace the valve. Our surgeons also are skilled in performing minimally invasive surgeries to treat blockages in the coronary arteries.

Our interventional cardiologists perform the latest minimally invasive procedures, including advancing the catheter through the wrist artery instead of the groin. As a result, patients benefit from safer and more comfortable recovery, including a lower risk of bleeding, compared to traditional catheterization techniques.

We are recognized for our innovative treatment of hypertension, coronary heart disease, advanced heart failure, mitral and aortic heart valve replacement, heart rhythm disorders, and using minimally invasive procedures to treat heart and vascular conditions.

Advanced Treatments for AFib Using Ablation

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) and other heart rhythm disorders affect many patients who come to Sacred Heart for treatment.  Of these disorders is AFIB is the most common and produces a disorganized, abnormal heartbeat. Our AFib patients have access to skilled cardiologists who specialize in electrophysiology [Keith Golden, MD, Jason Foreman, DO, MPH]. These doctors focus on the electrical activity in the heart and provide medications and treatments to control symptoms and prevent strokes. These doctors also perform catheter ablation procedures to repair the electrical pathways in the heart that create the abnormal heart rhythms.

For patients at high risk of cardiac arrest and sudden death, Sacred Heart also can implant cardioverter-defibrillator devices.
