From breast health screening to diagnosis and treatment to recovery and survivorship, we recognize that a compassionate, personal approach to breast health means caring for the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Breast cancer cannot be completely prevented, but there are ways that women can find breast cancer early before it becomes more serious.

A screening mammogram and clinical breast exam performed by a healthcare provider are the best ways to detect or diagnose breast cancer early. Women with a family history of breast cancer should talk with their doctors. In some cases, genetic testing or other ways to lower risks are recommended.

Timely diagnosis is essential, so we use digital mammography and ultrasound to help catch breast cancer early. During your care, your team of specialists will talk with you about your medical history and the best approach for you. If breast cancer is detected, you’ll then be closely connected with your care team to guarantee a personal, effective care plan.

We offer treatment plans and options for all types and stages of breast cancer, including various treatment options and surgery options utilizing hidden scar technology. You'll also receive support services throughout your care plan and after it's been completed.

Your Breast Health

Regular screening mammograms and clinical breast exams are an important part of your overall breast health.

Preventative Screenings

With the help of breast health screenings, breast cancer can be found even before there are any symptoms. A breast exam performed by your doctor, in combination with a mammogram, are the two main ways to screen for breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society offers more specific guidelines for breast cancer prevention and early detection. Early detection of breast cancer can mean that the cancer is able to be treated more easily.

While there are different recommendations, we support the recommendation of the American College of Radiology and Society of Breast Imaging that women of average risk receive an annual mammogram starting at age 40 Most insurers provide coverage for one annual screening mammogram – either per plan year or every 365 days.

If you are between 20 to 39 years of age and notice any change in your breast tissue, call your doctor right away.

Getting Ready for Your Mammogram

There are a few different types of mammograms that your doctor may perform. Some help find breast cancer early, and others can be used to help show the right diagnosis. During your appointment, the technician will position your breast, and there will be some pressure as the machine takes a picture. This image is like an X-ray of your breast tissue, which will show lumps or other irregularities in your breast tissue. From there, your doctor can suggest the next step that would be best for you.
