Volunteer Organization

Volunteers help ensure patients receive better care at Ascension

The Mercy Hospital Volunteer Organization (MHV) operates under the umbrella of Ascension Mercy Hospital. This organization of volunteers is dedicated to the needs of Ascension Mercy Hospital, its patients, visitors and employees. The volunteers assist Ascension Mercy in promoting the health and welfare of the community and conducts fundraising activities for the services of Ascension Mercy, community health related programs and local student scholarships. The volunteers raise funds through the Gift Shop and other special events. Committees work on various projects ranging from health education and public policy to chairing fundraisers.

The MHV is a member of the Partners of the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA). Partners provide a forum for exchanging information about the current hospital environment and how other hospitals are structuring their volunteer programs. They also exchange information about fundraising ideas. The WHA is a political health care lobbying force in Madison. The organization offers opportunities for leadership.
