Five-Star Quality Rating from CMS
Ascension St. John Owasso was recently awarded a five-star rating, the highest achievement level possible, from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Of the more than 3,300 hospitals evaluated nationwide by CMS, only 455 received a five-star rating. The hospital rating summarizes a variety of measures across seven areas of quality – including safety of care, effectiveness of care, and patient experience – into a single star rating for each hospital.
Ascension St. John Owasso named one of the nation’s Top 100 Hospitals
For a fourth year in a row, Ascension St. John Owasso has been named to the 2020 IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals list. Theis honor recognizes Ascension St. John Owasso as one of the top performing hospitals in the nation for 2020. IBM Watson Health identified the top hospitals from a rigorous evaluation of 3,134 short-term, acute care, non-federal hospitals in the U.S. The annual list recognizes excellence in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health. These include survival rates, patient complications, healthcare-associated infections, 30-day mortality, and 30-day hospital-wide readmission rates, length of stay, throughput in emergency rooms, inpatient expenses, profitability, and ratings from patients. IBM Watson Health established the list to help identify best practices that may help other healthcare organizations achieve consistent, balanced, and sustainable high performance.
