Living & Lifestyle

The Neighborhood

Our close-knit “neighborhood” within the Haven is divided into four courts of residential areas - Heritage, Serenity, Reverence, and Trinity. This arrangement promotes a less institutionalized atmosphere. Each room opens to a common dining/activities area and a central nursing station, and also affords pleasant views of the courtyard. All residents are encouraged to bring art, photographs and other items from home to personalize their individual residence. Rooms are fully furnished.

The Baroco Foundation funded our closed-circuit television network. Channel 1960 broadcasts Mass and services of other denominations daily from the Haven’s Chapel.

An Active Lifestyle

Daily planned activities, from bingo to cooking classes, keep residents active! All residents are encouraged to enjoy their meals in the main dining room or court areas. Staff members work extra hard to promote a home-like setting at The Haven. In addition, residents may participate in outdoor recreation and outings to area restaurants, the beach, and other activities are scheduled.

Family Council meetings give families the opportunities to suggest changes, and the Residents’ Council meets monthly to share thoughts, introduce ideas for menu changes, and share letters complimenting the Haven on its care.
