Community Initiatives

Ascension Sacred Heart provides multiple outpatient programs and services to support our mission of caring for the community, with special attention to the poor and vulnerable. Those services include:

Mission in Motion

The Mission in Motion mobile health unit provides free health screening to people who are poor, elderly or uninsured. The screenings measure blood pressure, blood sugar and total cholesterol, and can detect anemia. The screenings are helpful in diagnosing conditions that put people at high risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes and other health problems. Osteoporosis screenings measure bone density.

Women’s Care Center

The Women's Care Center provides obstetrics and gynecology services for women, including those covered by Medicaid. For patients without insurance, cost of care may reflect each patient’s ability to pay, with payment plans available and some services given free of charge. Our onsite financial counselor is available to assist with any questions or concerns. Ascension Sacred Heart is an academic medical center or teaching hospital, which means we provide hands-on training to OB/GYN resident physicians. These residents – who will be part of your care team at the Women’s Care Center – have completed medical school and are training to become specialists in obstetrics and gynecology. All residents are closely supervised by experienced, board-certified doctors. For more information, call 850-416-2400. The Women's Care Center is located at 1657 Trinity Dr. on the Pensacola hospital campus.

Miracle Camp

Miracle Camp provides camps and programs that lifts the spirits of children and adults with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Thanks to this special place, people of all ages may experience a “getaway from the every day.” Nestled in a peaceful, wooded area northwest of Pensacola, Miracle Camp is located on a 40-acre site along Beulah Road. The camp enriches the lives of its visitors and helps them better cope with the challenges they face by providing therapeutic camp experiences, such as Camp Bluebird for cancer survivors and patients coping with cancer. For more information, or to schedule a retreat or event at Miracle Camp, contact kristen.becker2@ascension.org.

Community Health Northwest Florida

Ascension Sacred Heart is proud to be a supporter of Community Health Northwest Florida, the area’s only Federally Qualified Health Center.
