Frequently Asked Questions
What can I bring?
Eastwood Recovery Center can provide for all of your needs. If you don't have any of the items below, just ask staff and we can provide them for you.
- Standard toiletries
- 1 week of clothing
- Creature comforts such as your own blanket
- Recovery literature
- Quarters for the payphone
- Cell phone (can be used for virtual visitation)
What items are not allowed?
- Drugs, weapons, or paraphernalia
- Aerosol items
- Food or Drink
Are my belongings safe?
Each person is offered a combination lock when they enter treatment, and everyone has their own locker. Because of the brotherhood at Eastwood, we rarely have issues with theft.
How long is treatment?
Depending on each person's needs, the stay is up to 5 days for detox and up to 28 days for residential treatment. Most of us find that the first week or two helps to clear the mind and begin to heal the brain nand body. The second week or two is where the most growth happens.
Can I smoke?
While smoking is allowed in designated areas, Eastwood Recovery Center staff can also assist you in quitting smoking if you are interested. This can include nicotine replacement.
How often is visitation?
Visitation is on Wednesdays or Saturdays. Due to COVID19, all visitation is currently virtual. If you do not have a cell phone, you may utilize the program's phone for visitation. Once we return to in person visitation, Friends and Family attend a group from 5:30-6:30pm prior to visitation which is 6:30-7:30pm. Children are welcome.
Is there a phone?
There is a pay phone available for use after 4pm daily. The payphone accepts quarters only. Recovery Techs can make change. Business/Aftercare calls can be made from the regular landline with a phone pass from your therapist.
What happens after treatment?
Each person works with their treatment team to develop an Aftercare plan that covers recovery needs, living environment, daily structure (work, school, or volunteer work), physical health, and support system. Outpatient therapy or an Intensive Outpatient Program are strongly recommended along with participation in a 12-step or other recovery program. mClients have a greater than 70% success rate if they 1. Complete residential treatment 2. Attend outpatient therapy or IOP 3. Go to 90 meetings in 90 days 4. Get a sponsor/mentor and 5. Work the steps/program. Those who complete the program are welcome to visit at any time. Due to COVID19, we are restricting alumni to 1 visitor at a time. Eastwood Recovery Center has many Alumni who come back for meetings, to give an open talk (once they have at least 1 year clean), or to hang out and be an example of recovery for those currently in treatment.
