Joint Replacement Program
Once you have committed to having a joint replacement at St. Vincent’s, your journey begins with an orthopedic nurse navigator who will personally guide you through all the steps for a successful experience.
Our navigators will:
- Help you register for joint replacement seminars and Joint Camp
- Register you for pre-admission testing
- Lead your Joint Camp class
- Assist you in preparing for surgery
- Explain what to expect during recovery

We recommend that you designate a support person to accompany you during the joint replacement process. You and your support person can prepare together at our Joint Camp, a program led by an Orthopedic Nurse Navigator and a member of the Physical Therapy Department. We listen to your questions and concerns, and provide answers so you are well informed about your surgery and recovery.
During Joint Camp we start working with you on your discharge plan and explain what to expect after you return home. As the only health system in the area with a personalized approach to joint surgery, we offer the compassionate care that is uniquely St. Vincent’s.
