HeartCode® BLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings by using a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills. Students complete the hands-on session using a voice-activated manikin (VAM) as required for full course completion.
VAM check-off locations are available at:
Nashville St. Thomas Midtown
Nashville St. Thomas West
Murfreesboro St. Thomas Rutherford
Once registered, you will receive a follow-up email from St. Thomas AHA instructors with information for the online portion and VAM skills check-off.
Important: Please note that you must complete the program in its entirety, including check-off with the VAM prior to December 18. After this date, you will lose access to the program and not be issued a refund. The Heartcode program will continue to be offered as Ascension is migrating to an updated version of the software.
Refunds are processed upon request. If an online course has been accessed, no refund will be provided.
