In the workshop, participants will learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors and promote exercise to increase strength and balance. Participants in this interactive workshop will engage in group discussion, problem-solving, skill building, assertiveness training and learn exercises to help increase flexibility, range of motion and strength.
Classes are eight consecutive weeks running for 2 hours. Classes start promptly at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. Feel free to bring water and a healthy snack if needed. People are strongly encouraged to eat a good breakfast and/or lunch on day of class.
The workshop will be canceled if the minimum number of 8 participants is not registered prior to the start of the workshop. No new member will be admitted to the workshop after the second session.
