Meet the Midwife is an informal gathering with the Ascension Borgess Midwifery group. It is an opportunity to meet all of the midwives in one place and ask any questions about labor and delivery or midwifery care. Certified nurse midwives are licensed advanced practice nurses with specialized training in women's reproductive health. CNMs are trained to help women be as healthy as they can in pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period, and to diagnose and manage obstetrical problems. In collaboration with physicians, CNMs offer the same pain management options as OB-GYNs and have additional training in continuous labor support and other natural pain relief options. They are also trained to provide primary care for women of all ages, to support breastfeeding, and to care for newborns in their first weeks of life.
Meet the Midwife is held in our Medical Specialties Building Women's health office suite 250 on the second floor. We meet in the waiting room. The gathering is from 6:15pm-7pm. There is an optional birth center tour from 5:30pm-6:15pm. Please sign up for the birth center tour separately.
Please register only 1 person (you may bring a guest).
