Central Wisconsin Worksite Wellness Network

Welcome to the Central Wisconsin Worksite Wellness Network registration page.

Join us on March 5, for a special Central Wisconsin Worksite Wellness Network meeting – “Improving Environmental Impacts at the Worksite: Strategies to Enhance Employee Performance and Wellbeing.” This free meeting will cover a broad range of topics that detail how the environment and sustainable practices can enhance employee wellbeing and improve organizational success.

The built environment and sustainability are key drivers and an integral part of organizational culture. Theresa Lehman, from Miron Construction will speak to their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives that have been integrated into their business practices and construction operations, which are aimed at expanding our teams’ green knowledge and capabilities, sharing best practices with their partners and extending sustainable leadership to their clients.

Trevor Roark, Chair of Stevens Point’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Street Safety Commission and Program Manager for UWSP Adventure Tours, will address America’s growth pattern of development that has caused us to almost always jump in the car to get from A to B, even if it’s only 1 mile. The impact of choosing travel by car has led to less walking and biking, and can take a toll on our mental health and pocket books. Trevor will break down the stigmas and barriers to walking and/or biking for transportation, providing an assist to active transportation for life. Employers and employee/worksite/HR wellness programs have an important role empowering employees to act. Trevor will share some techniques, incentives, and best practices that employers can use to help achieve mental and physical health outcomes desired, while potentially improving the bottom line.

Lynn Frost, RN BSN, CLC, Community Health Nurse & Lactation Counselor will share with the group the Business Case for Breastfeeding, a WIN-WIN for businesses and employees through provision of private space, policy development and support.

The meeting will conclude with an assessment of employees’ immediate space, their desk and office environment and how employees can improve their health, wellbeing and performance at their desk. This is usually the environment employees spend the most time in. Katie Hickman, LAT, Industrial Rehab Coordinator, Employer Solutions, will help you address ergonomic and related issues at the desk. Making smart choices about creating an environment to support your performance and well-being is critical to organizational success. This presentation will provide you with simple tools to assess your immediate work-space and do some activities to increase health and wellness.

This meeting is sponsored by Employer Solutions, part of Ascension.
