Injuries are the leading cause of death in children up to age 5, so today’s babysitters need to know more than just the basics of childcare. Students learn life-saving skills, such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice choking rescue. Skills taught include: safety skills, childcare skills, first aid and rescue skills, along with life and business skills.
Safe Sitter will be offered from 8 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital Weston. The class will be held in the Creativity conference room.
$50.00 class fee includes Student Handbook.
