Childbirth Education 2 Week Class - Rhinelander
Find out what to expect during labor and delivery, and learn relaxation and comfort measures from our experienced OB nurses and healthcare providers.
Expectant mothers are encouraged to attend these classes with their partner or other support person that will be their labor companion. Suggested enrollment for classes is recommended 6-8 weeks prior to your due date (about the start of your seventh month of pregnancy).
Our classes focus on the labor and delivery process, relaxation breathing and comfort measures. The instructors are experienced OB nurses and health care providers.
Each series consists of two evening classes held on Thursdays from 6:00 – 9:00 pm OR classes can be taken as one Saturday class held from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm with a tour of the birthing unit after class. Classes are held at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Conference Room 1 (lower level).
The class schedule may change due to providers needing to take care of patients and the tour of the Birthing Center is dependent on patient census, so if we need to change the dates or cancel for unexpected reasons, we will let you know.
- Introduction to breathing and relaxation, terminology and early signs of labor.
- Active labor and delivery, anesthesia presentation, Birthing Center tour.
- OB/GYN presentation and c-section and delivery video.
Registration is required. Payment is due at the time of registration.
