Emily Thurnherr, Pharm.D. (Emily.Thurnherr@ascension.org) received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Buffalo (Buffalo, NY) in 2020. Her professional interests include infectious disease and ambulatory care. Upon completion of the residency she plans to obtain a clinical pharmacy specialist position in infectious diseases. For her research project, Emily is evaluating the impact of implementing a pharmacist-led vancomycin AUC monitoring protocol on nephrotoxicity.
Sharvil Patel, Pharm.D. (Sharvil.Patel@ascension.org) received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from D’Youville’s School of Pharmacy (Buffalo, NY) in 2020. His professiona interests include critical care and emergency medicine. Upon completion of theresidency, he plans to obtain a clinical pharmacist position in emergency medicine. For his research project, Sharvil is working with emergency department providers to create an antimicrobial stewardship initiative to reduce inappropriate use of antibiotics for patients with urinary tract infections.
